The creativity explosion of Afro-American communities in New York ghettos, spread to Latin people who share the adrenalin fever of hip hop.  The potential of this music trapped the interest of Russell Simmons, manager of pioneer rap artists like Kurtis Blow, Spoonie Gee and Jimmy Spicer.

Sylvia Robinson, other producer finally created a band of three MCs (Michael Wright, Big Bang Hank and Master Gee) for making a record with its own company Sugar Hill Records.  As a result, in 1979 appeared the mythical song “Rapper´s Delight” that became a hit in USA and Canada.  The hip hop era had begun!

Other street artists who prove fame were Grandmaster Flash & The Furious Five with its 1980 hit “Superrapin” and Afrika Bambaataa debut with the 1981 song “Zulu Nation Throwdown”.
